My Favorite Looks From The Milan Fall 2014 Fashion Week - Just Style LA

As the Paris fall 2014 fashion week is in progress, I wanted to look back and do a small recap of my favorite looks from Milan fall 2014 fashion week which ended a few days ago. Even though Paris is the capital of fashion, I have a lot of love and admiration for Italian designers and the talent and workmanship that comes out of that country. Italy being one of my most favorite countries to visit, it has the best of all things I love, great fashion, food, design, art and architecture.

It is always difficult to choose your favorite looks and collection when there is so much talent out there. But I have tried to base my picks mainly on great outerwear and jackets.

What I loved most about this collection was its well tailored, crisp and sexy looks which stay true to the Gucci woman no matter what is going on in the rest of the fashion world. I think a lot of women have a hard time with all the oversized looks that are being shown right now especially when its oversized over oversized shapes that hide a woman’s curves completely. I think Frida Giannini understands that a woman needs to show some shape. I also loved her use of soft pastel colors for fall which was refreshing. Here are just a few of the looks I loved.

Roberto Cavali

Cavali is another designer that is all about sex appeal but usually with a bit of rock and roll mixed into a chic and classy look. This combination sometimes does not work so well but this season I think he got it just right. I loved all the fur, python, prints and jewels mixed in just the right way. Here are just a few of the looks I loved.

Consuelo Castiglioni took a lot of the trends that are happening and mixed them all together. Somehow she got it right, she is the best at doing odd mixes and making them somehow work. There was fur, feathers, sportiness and military all mixed in one. I loved the beautiful earthy colors which was a nice change from black. Here are just a few of the looks I loved.

Max Mara

I love menswear influences for women. It’s just a classic that never goes out of style. Max Mara’s team showed Seville Row tailoring and menswear inspired looks beautifully. Even though some pieces were on the oversized side and quilted, somehow they worked because they still had some shape. I loved all the sleeveless coats and vests, classic menswear tweeds mixed together and with fur. Here are just a few of the looks I loved.

Salvatore Ferragamo

Massimilano Grornetti’s subtle more luxurious and a little serious look seems to work really well. This was a very chic and classy collection that covered enough trends but stayed true to its core customer. Beautiful plaids, animal prints, fur and feathers and leather done in unexpected ways. Here a just a few of the looks I loved.
