Our Brand New Paris Boucle Jacket
Boucle jackets are perfect for this time of the year and every year I try to come up with a couple of new styles in this category as they are always a favorite. This year I have designed and made this classic boucle jacket – I am calling it our Paris Boucle Jacket. It is cut and sewn here in Los Angeles out of a classic black and ivory Italian made boucle fabric. The body is shaped and has two pockets with flaps, epaulettes and gold dome buttons to finish off the look.
It is lined in a beautiful black and white stripe lining which works perfectly with the boucle fabric. As you know I love folding jacket sleeves up to show a bit of lining and this jacket looks great styled that way. Or you can leave the sleeves down and show off the beautiful small gold dome buttons on the sleeve.
I paired the jacket with a brand new feminine ivory blouse with soft detailing. The body is loose and has long sleeves and a small button opening. The front has a slit with a small hook and eye that you can either close, as I have done today, or leave it open. This slit leads into a pleat which gives it a subtle yet interesting detailing. The blouse is slightly see through and you would need to wear a camisole underneath. It looks very chic and classy with this jacket, but it would also work with many other pieces.
I wore both pieces with my faux leather pants to give them an edgy look. Boucle jackets have a tendency to sometimes look old so it is very important to know how to style them. I prefer wearing them with unexpected pieces to make them more modern. The gold chain belt is a great addition to this look since it picks up the gold of the buttons and it is reminiscent of how the great Coco Chanel wore her boucle jackets.
As a second outerwear option, I also styled this look with another boucle piece we have just added to our store, out Black Ivory Boucle Knit Poncho. This is a great poncho that is soft and cozy and you can either dress it up like I have done today or wear it casually with jeans and boots. It has a fun double self-fringe in the bottom and the sides have a tie which creates an armhole for you to put your arms through. You can untie the ties and throw it over your shoulder as another look as I have done below.
To finish off the look, I have added a necklace set which is two necklaces mixed together. We are selling it as a set but you can wear them separately so you are getting two necklaces for the price of one. The combination of gold, black and pearl is also a classic that works perfectly with this boucle jacket.
