A Stripe Mix In Black And Ivory
Happy weekend everyone! For this weekends style feature I have a couple of casual black and ivory looks for you.
Stripes are one of my favorite patterns and I think they are one of most popular patterns that most people like and feel comfortable wearing.
Some of you might think stripes are hard to wear, but they don’t have to be. Here are a couple of rules that I always stick to:
- Any kind of vertical stripe is ok to wear.
- For horizontal stripes stick to smaller to medium size stripes.
- When wearing stripes for a bottom piece, stick to vertical stripes only.
For my look today I have styled our new Ivory Black Stripe Sweater with Elbow Patches a couple of different ways. This sweater has a wonderful soft hand and a nice weight so you can wear it on its own or as a layering piece under jackets. I love the partial stripe look and even though the stripes are horizontal, the size of them is on the small side, making it easy to wear for everyone. Last but not least, I love the tan color faux suede elbow patches that are a great detail on the sleeves.
I am wearing this sweater today with my skinny black jeans and for outerwear I have styled the sweater with two different vests from our shop.
The first piece is our Black Cape Vest with Fringe. We have had these black cape vests in the shop before, with and without the fringe and they have been best sellers!
We are currently sold out of the black vest without the fringe, but I personally really like this vest with the fringe, as the fringe gives it a new twist.
Just like all our other cape vests, it’s a great piece that you can wear a couple of different ways as I have shown you below.
For the second outerwear piece today, I am wearing our Black Ivory Stripe Knit Vest with Fringe.
This is a really fun piece and I love how the stripes on the vest mix with the stripes on the sweater. It is a great statement piece that can be worn two different ways as well.
One way the back looks longer and if you twist it the other way the back can be shorter. It is finished in a way that the stripes become self-fringe at the ends.
For jewelry I chose to wear our Gold Tone Oval Shape Hoop Earrings. Since I was going for a more casual vibe, I wore these looks with my flat red loafer mules and a black cross body bag.
