Easter Day Out At The Getty Villa In My New Graphic Jacket
Easter Day Out At The Getty Villa In My New Graphic Jacket
A couple of weeks ago I did a blog story about printed jackets being a big trend for spring 2014 and I promised you then that I would share with you the first printed jacket I purchased for this spring.
I decided to wear my new printed jacket to a really nice Easter day outing last Sunday to the beautiful Getty Villa in the Pacific Palisades followed by a nice dinner at Moonshadows on the beach. It was such a lovely day with excellent weather and beautiful scenery. I had never visited the Getty Villa before which has an educational center and museum dedicated to the study of the arts and cultures of ancient Greece, Rome and Etruria, along with beautiful Roman inspired grounds. I really enjoyed looking at all their collections of Greek and Roman statues, jewelry and magificent art work all while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Villa, walking around the beautiful gardens and sitting down for a nice cappuccino. This Easter Sunday just felt right, and i felt some much needed culture and fashion inspiration from a getty villa visit would be good for me.
Now going back to my outfit, I found this jacket a couple of weeks ago at Forever 21, (I know not a typical place that I would ever look for a jacket). Don’t get me wrong I like Forever 21 for certain things like tops or some dresses here and there, but I hardly ever find great quality jackets there. However I was pleasantly surprised with this find. The first thing that caught my eye was the geometric print. I immediately loved the print and then checked out the body and the fabric and it was actually really nice and made reasonably well with a great lining. I decided to mix it with another geometric print, hence my stripe top. I thought the two prints mixed really well together. As far as my bottom, I bought these culottes a few years ago when they were in fashion and loved them, and then I had to put them away because they were out of fashion. Usually I don’t keep a lot of things, but I liked the cut of these so much that I did keep them and boy am I happy I did because they have made a big come back for spring 2014. Last but not least I decided to add a little color; it was Easter after all, so I threw in my red clutch as a color pop with my all black and white outfit.
What do you think of my printed jacket? Have you found one yet? I would love to hear from you.
