Fall Trend Alert Cargo And Military Jackets - Just Style LA

I have always loved the military trend in fashion, I love the khaki’s, olive or even navy color palette, the gold buttons and epaulettes and even the big oversized pockets, I love them all. The good news is for Fall 2016, they seem to be just as strong as last year with lots of designers showing them in their runway shows again earlier this year. There were lots of functional utility and military styles on runway shows from Phillip Lim to Burberry, Prada, Marni and many more. Some were pretty straight forward and some were decorated and embellished with embroideries.

For our Jacket Society line, I wanted to keep in touch with this trend but do it in a way that is wearable for everyone and not so over the top. That’s why I came up with our Olive Cargo jacket which has just the right amount of military influence without it being too much. The jacket is made out of a very soft sanded rayon fabric in a beautiful olive color. The body is loose and easy to wear with two big pockets with flaps that give it that cargo/utility look. The sleeves can be worn long or folded up and buttoned with a tab to hold them up. There is no lining or shoulder pads and that gives it an easy casual vibe.

I styled it with a simple tank top and jeans for today as it is still pretty hot in most cities including LA. As we get into cooler months, I can totally see it worn with a great scarf and boots. Once it is cooler, you can also unbutton the tabs on the sleeve and the jacket becomes long sleeve. I wore it with my gladiator sandals that are close enough to booties but they have open toes.

Last but not least I added one of our brand new beautiful necklaces that works perfectly with this jacket. To finish off the look I added one of our bracelets which also happens to work well with the necklace.

What do you think of my look and do you like the military trend?
