How To Wear A Black Blazer For Spring
Hello Ladies and welcome to the first day of Spring!
I love spring, the weather is perfect and beautiful flowers start to bloom all around us. This year especially there is a sense of hope in the air as well, with the Covid 19 cases going down slowly and more people getting vaccinated. There is a light at the end of the dark tunnel we have all been living through for the last year.
Speaking of spring, I think all women should have at least one black blazer in their closet. It is one of those wardrobe essentials that is a must have. They are obviously perfect for fall and winter, but they can work just as easily for spring.
Before I talk about today’s look, here are a few quick tips on how to wear them for spring:
- Choose blazers that are in spring friendly fabrics and lighter in weight.
- Go for ¾” sleeve length or scrunch/fold up the sleeves
- Wear them with light or bright colors
- Accessorize them with spring must have jewelry and scarves
- Go for loose and easier silhouettes
- Wear them with sandals and show some skin
For today’s look I have a new top that is perfect for spring and summer. It is made out of a slightly crinkled rayon fabric. The base is ivory, and it has a black aztec inspired stripe print. The shoulder area has a pretty lace insert. The body is loose and long, with small buttons in the front. It has long sleeves, but you can fold it up if you prefer.
I am wearing it with our Black Shawl Collar Open Front Blazer to show you how you can wear this blazer for spring and make it look fresh. I have styled this blazer a few other times and we keep re-stocking them since it is such a great classic black blazer.
Inspired by a tuxedo jacket, It has a semi loose body that is fully lined. It has a long thin shawl collar and two pockets with a flap.
Going back to my tips on how to wear a black blazer, you can see how I have added a new spring scarf in a fun coral print and a new bold necklace to make the whole look more springy. To finish off the look I am wearing open toe heels and a fun clutch which also give it a nice fresh look.
