My Favorite Looks From Paris Fall 2015 Shows
Paris fashion week is THE fashion week of all fashion weeks, a grand finale’ of the big four destinations.
A lot is always expected of the Paris shows and this year they surely delivered. This fall season my favorite shows were mostly from Paris. So much so that I could not edit them and decided to use a different format for posting my pictures so I could squeeze in more looks. As you will see below, for this blog story, I have put three pictures from each designer together to save space so I can feature more designers and more looks that I liked from all their collections.
From the pop up brasserie set at Chanel, to the facial piercings at Givenchy and Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller walking the Valentino show to announce Zoolander 2, the Paris shows were a nonstop feast for the eyes. There was so much creative energy and inspiration packed into this one week of fashion events and shows, I loved it!
Even though there were some common trend elements in Paris that were seen in other cities fashion weeks, mainly the 70’s influence, I felt Paris still had its own trends that were unique and not as universal as seen in the other shows.
Here are some of the key trends that I pick up on from the Paris shows:
- Sleeveless coats
- 70’s but with a twist
- Punk mixed with tailored looks
- Brocades and Jacquards
- Fur
- Pattern mix
- Tweeds
- Velvets
- Belts and ties
- Deconstructed looks and seams
- Extra long sleeves
- Floor length coats
- Black and white
- Tuxedo looks
- Hippie chic
- Fringe
There are so many great trends to pick and choose from here especially for jackets and outerwear. As usual I love the tweeds and the interesting pattern mixes mainly at Haider Ackermann, Chanel and Lanvin. It was so nice to see rich fabrics like velvets and brocades making a comeback but in a modern way for a change. Even though they are not necessarily jacket related, I also loved all the neck ties at Chloe and floral corsages at Dries Van Notten.
Below you can see my favorite looks, let me know which ones are your favorite?
