Wearing The Soleil Jacket For Mothers Day Dinner
Wearing The Soleil Jacket For Mothers Day Dinner
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day. I had a very busy weekend because I had a trunk show at a beautiful Mother’s Day luncheon on Saturday in Studio City where I got to display and sell my jackets, jewelry and scarves. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun at the same time, I am going to post all the details and pictures about it on Friday.
Today I am going to tell you how I spent my Mother’s Day with my husband and son. In the past they have always planned a wonderful lunch or brunch by the beach for me. Unfortunately this years plans were a little different because my son is in the middle of his final exams at USC and it was going to be too difficult to plan a full day outing. So this years plan was to go for a nice dinner locally, after spending the day at home working on his studies, this would give him a break, but not take too much out of his day.
It actually all worked out perfectly as I spent the day relaxing from being on my feet all day at Saturday’s trunk show. So around 4:30 my husband Tim and I headed out to Pasadena to take pictures for the blog before meeting Stefen around 5:30 for dinner at Smitty’s Grill, which is a very nice steak and seafood restaurant in Pasadena.
During the last few weeks, the weather in Los Angeles has been quite a bit cooler and we even had some rain last week, which is strange for us in May, especially when we have not had a fall or winter season at all this year. Anyway Mothers day ended up being a beautiful sunny day with perfect temperatures, so I decided to wear one of my favorite wrap dresses that I have had for a long time.
It is an elegant printed dress made from georgette and I really wanted to wear something feminine for Mother’s Day. It also just so happened that our Soleil jacket, which is a beautiful gold color, picked up the gold part of the print in this dress perfectly, so it was a no brainer to include the jacket. The Soleil jacket was a big hit on my Saturday Mother’s Day trunk show and I only have a few pieces left before we are sold out. It is on sale right now on our web site here.
I added my favorite vintage Moroccan necklace and my go to gladiator sandals to make the whole look more modern and current.
We had a wonderful time, the food was delicious and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect Mother’s Day.
