Make Your Favorite Women's Classic Blazer Fun And Sexy
I have been looking for the opportunity to do a blog story about wearing a blazer over a dress and the opportunity finally presented itself last weekend when we were invited to a cocktail party. Most of us wear cocktail dresses to cocktail parties and we either don’t feel like we need a cover up or we choose a shawl to go with a dress. This is all fine and I actually really like a nice evening shawl over a cocktail dress. Why not try a blazer over your dress? I know this look can seem a bit business like, but it all depends on how you style it with your shoes and accessories.
I decided to wear my favorite white blazer to this cocktail party and show you how I made the jacket more fun and less serious for an evening out. Because I was wearing a classic blazer, I wanted the dress to be interesting and have a twist to counterbalance the classic blazer. I bought this dress last year because I loved the asymmetrical side drape and the back exposed zipper which are the two elements that make it unique. This combined with my modern and sexy sandals and my vintage YSL necklace (a statement piece I purchased in Paris years ago) automatically give the white classic blazer a more modern twist. On top of that I decided to fold the blazer’s sleeves and scrunch them up on my arms to give it an edgier look. You can also pull up your collar a bit to make the whole look even cooler.
