As we are getting closer to spring, most of us I am sure, are starting to think about our spring wardrobes, I thought this would be a good opportunity to take a look at Pantone’s color report for spring 2017. The Pantone Color Institute is one of the most used resources for color direction by brands and companies and that is why I usually like to follow their colors as a guide. They normally do about 10 colors and below you can see their names, along with a small description and a mood board for each color.
Niagara
Comfortable and dependable, Niagara leads the Pantone fashion color report as the most prevalent color for spring 2017. It is a classic denim-like blue that speaks to our desire for ease and relaxation.
Primrose Yellow
One of my favorite colors, Primrose Yellow sparkles with heat and vitality, inviting us into instant warmth. This joyful yellow shade takes us to a destination marked by enthusiasm, cheerfulness and sunny days.
Flame
Another one of my favorites, a red-based orange, Flame is gregarious and fun loving. This color is vivacious and can add fiery heat to any outfit.
Greenery
Announced as Pantone’s Spring 2017 color of the year, Greenery is a tangy yellow-green that speaks to our need to explore and reinvent. Illustrative of flourishing foliage, it makes one want to take a deep breath and oxygenate.
Lapis Blue
Conveying energy, strength and confidence, this intense blue shade is filled with an inner radiance. It is a beautiful shade of blue that is dramatic yet calming.
Hazelnut
Hazelnut is a key neutral for spring. This shade brings to mind a natural earthiness with an inherent warmth. It is a transitional color that effortlessly connects the seasons.
Pink Yarrow
Tropical and festive, Pink Yarrow is a whimsical hue that temps and tantalizes. This bold color lifts one’s spirit and get the adrenaline going.
Island Paradise
This is a cool blue green shade that speaks to our dream of the great escape, to a tropical place and our desire to unwind and relax.
Kale
Evocative of the great outdoors and a healthy lifestyle, Kale is another foliage-based green that conjures up our desire to connect with nature.
Pale Dogwood
Another tranquil color, Pale Dogwood is a quiet and peaceful pink shade that brings an aura of innocence and purity with a healthy glow.
What are your thoughts on these colors and which one is your favorite? I would also love to hear some feedback in what kind of colors you would like to see more of in our store?
