Styling Our New Ethnic Print Kimono Jacket
I know for most women jackets are not the biggest priority for summer. With the rising temperatures, we want to shed layers and be more comfortable. But I think we can still incorporate light weight jackets, kimonos or cardigans into our outfits to make them more interesting.
Remember the “third piece rule” which always makes your outfit more stylish. Just because its summer you do not have to forget about the 3rd piece. Also most indoor places like offices, restaurants, malls and movie theaters can get cold with the air conditioners blasting this time of the year so the summer jacket or cardigan always something to have handy just in case.
Today I have a very pretty light weight kimono jacket that is a statement piece to wear over over jeans, skirts or even shorts. It is made out of a soft georgette fabric with a very nice ethnic print in earth tone colors. The reason I call it a kimono jacket is mainly for the shape of the sleeves which are styled similar to a kimono and have a very pretty ruffle that runs through the sleeves and into the front of the body. It has a self-drawstring belt with tassels at the end, that you can cinch in the waist or leave it loose.
I styled this jacket with our brand-new Ivory Cold Shoulder Ruffle Sleeve Jersey Top. I have just added this easy rayon jersey top to our shop. The body is loose and long with dolman style sleeves and it has a cold shoulder detail on the shoulder/upper arm area. The sleeves are elbow length with a ruffle in the bottom. I have tucked in the top, as I prefer that look with this outfit but you can easily leave the top. Please see the photos in the shop for the exact length of the top.
Since summer is the perfect time to wear more skirts, I chose to style these two pieces with my denim skirt as opposed to denim pants today. This jacket has many colors in it’s print so it will works with a variety of colors for a bottom.
As for accessories, I added our Matt Gold Link Chain Necklace with Chain Fringe and our White Orange Brown Abstract Print Scarf with Sequins. I have styled both these pieces for you before with other outfits, as they are both super flexible and work with many looks.
