Our Soft Lemon Drop Jacket Styled For The Office
Our Soft Lemon Drop Jacket Styled For The Office
We have had some strange weather in Los Angeles this summer and last weekend’s weather was the strangest yet. Saturday we woke up to thunder, lightning and torrential rain that continued throughout the day. At times, the lightning was so close and loud it made me jump out of my skin. Sunday it cleared up a little bit and it was supposed to stay that way until the evening. We figured we could do our blog shoot late in the afternoon and be ok. Needless to say the weather forecast was wrong and it started raining hard around 5:00 pm. We were very lucky because we had literally just finished the shoot and were getting in our car when it started pouring down with rain. Talk about calling it close! I am not complaining though since we really need this rain in California as we are in the middle of a severe drought.
As I mentioned last week on my blog story, we have just added some new jackets to our website. The two solid jackets – the Lemon drop jacket and the Cosmo jacket – are made out of beautiful soft sanded rayon. They are the same jacket body but in two different colors. This week I wanted to style one of them for an office look because the jackets are softer and some of you may not think of them as office appropriate. I decided to go with the Lemon drop jacket for this week and next week I will style the Cosmo jacket for a more casual weekend look. A lot of women think of blazers as the only office ready jacket and even though blazers are great for the office, there are a lot of other softer jackets that can be worn to the office if you know how to style them the right way. Personally, I like the contrast of wearing a softer jacket with a more constructed and serious look and a blazer with a softer, casual look.
I styled the Lemon drop jacket with a black pencil skirt and a print top both of which are perfect for an office. I tucked in the top and belted it to give it a more finished look and added our beautiful black and grey stone tassel necklace. I wanted to wear my gold sandals (purchased from Zara sale) to pick up the gold in the belt buckle and my necklace to enhance the color of the jacket itself, which is a very soft yellow that I call “Maze”. If you can not wear sandals to work, this look will work just as well with pumps or any closed toe heels that are appropriate for the office.
You can purchase our Lemon drop jacket here and the necklace here.
I would love to hear your thoughts on my look and our Lemon drop jacket?
